The city police have booked eight students of the Ramanathapuram Government school who flouted the covid guidelines and instigated a protest against the construction of the Suez water tank inside the school premises.
Coimbatore: Eight students of the Ramanathapuram government school have been booked by the city police for protesting against the construction of the Suez Tank.
The Suez Tank construction work is in progress at the Government Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram playground. Public and students have been objecting the construction.
In protest, school children gathered at the school campus on Sunday, protested against the corporation administration and demanded a halt to the ongoing Suez tank work on the school grounds. There was chaos at the protest site after some students climbed the tree and demonstrated.
The police then held talks with the students and dispersed them. The Ramanathapuram police have registered a case under two sections, including for violating the covid norms, against eight students who staged a protest against the construction of a Suez water tank in the school premises.
