Coimbatore: A Government School student from Tirupur who was a medical aspirant secured her seat for medical studies in the general counselling held.
Aparna, a student from Annur was overjoyed at being admitted for medical science studies through the general counselling held for medical courses for the academic year 2021-22. The general counselling process for the year 2021-22 is underway in Tamil Nadu.
For the academic year 2020-21, three candidates - Aparna, Naveena and Mallikarjun - from the Thavathiru Shanthalinga Adigalar Government Higher Secondary School at Kattampatti near Annur cleared the NEET examination.
Aparna who participated in the general counselling held for students from Government schools and was eligible for 7.5 percent reservation seat was selected. Aparna has opted for the Virudhunagar Government Medical College.
The School Headmaster Prabhakar and teachers awarded Aparna ₹ 10,000. The Headmaster Prabhakar stated, "Since the time our school was upgraded from High School to Higher Secondary School in 2017, there has been a 100 % pass rate in the 10th and 12th grade public examinations. Aparna, a rural girl, from our school has cleared NEET and has now joined a medical college. This year too, special training is being imparted to students for the medical entrance examination," opined an elated Headmaster.
