The BJP Women Wing Head and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srnivasan, while addressing the press here, stated that chance has to be given to both the parties in the election and that is why there has been a coalition break.
Coimbatore: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will be contesting separately in the local polls and has formally announced a coalition split with AIADMK.
MLA Vanathi Srinivasan has stated that as the first round of talks ended in a disagreement, the BJP and AIADMK will be contesting separately in the upcoming local polls. She added that, the election campaign against AIADMK, can be witnessed during the process, when question of the coalition split.
The BJP National Women Wing President, Vanathi Srinivasan addressed reporters at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. She stated that the party has been following the decisions of the state head, Annamalai, as he has announced on the alliance break.
She also denied on answering, if AIADMK was stubborn due to the Nainar Nagendran’s comment on AIADMK. She stated that the party is respectable and added that the break in alliance came after there were disagreements in the first round of talks. “We thought candidates from both parties should be given an equal chance.”
Further addressing the Ariyalur student’s suicide case, she questions DMK Chief and TN CM on not providing relief funds to the victim’s family. Welcoming the court’s order to hand over the case to the CBCID, she added that the police department is trying to hide the forceful conversion issue.
“Directing for a CBCID investigation throws a ray of hope and we expect the deceased girl gets justice.” she said in the press meet. Stating that this issue has put down the respect Chief Minister Stalin had, she urged for enforcement of a law that prohibits forced conversion.
She further thanked everyone who initiated the agitation and especially thanked the BJP leadership for setting up a separate inquiry committee and taking up the issue of student Lavanya at the national level.
Moving the focus back to the elections, Vanathi Srinivasan said that BJP had won many seats in comparison to the Vijay Makkal Katchi and preparing the candidate list contesting in all the 100 wards of Coimbatore Corporation is in progress.
Adding that a complete understanding was achieved on Nagendran’s comment with AIADMK, Vanathi Srinivasan also said that the party will implement the decision taken by the party leadership on the alliance. BJP national leadership is giving guidance on local body elections to the state administrators from time to time.
Appreciating that AIADMK as the most valuable party in the NDA, she stated that the campaign against AIADMK can be witnessed soon.
