Coimbatore: A 21-year-old medical student, studying at a private college hanged himself to death reportedly due to stress.
Karthik Kumar, son of Selvakumar, a farmer from Sundakampalayam of Tirupur was found hanging dead at his house, by his friends. The 21-year-old was a second-year student at a private medical college and had been staying with his friends in the Othakkal Mandapam area of Coimbatore. Karthik Kumar has reportedly been feeling stressed, as he found the second year textbook difficult to study and understand and had been lamenting to his friends about this. He was reportedly in agony even though his friends consoled him.
Suspicious over Karthik not coming back for a long time, and unable to reach him on phone, his friends went home in search of Karthik, only to find him hanging from the window sill.
The Chettipalayam police have registered a case, recovered the body and are investigating. The incident has grieved his friends and fellow students.
