Coimbatore: The city police on Friday, arrested two members, one belonging to Hindu Munnani in connection with the murder of a finance company owner in Annur on Thursday.
Saravana Sundaram of Nagammapudur near Annur was hacked to death on Thursday by two men in broad daylight, after which the murderers surrendered themselves at the police station. Investigations were underway. In a surprising twist, the family of Saravanan lodged a complaint against Rajendran for the alleged murder.
Saravana Sundaram used to work for a financial institution run by Kutty alias Rajendran, a leading Hindu Munnani executive. Saravana Sundaram reportedly broke away from him and started his financial institution. Saravanan paid Rs 1 lakh from the financial institution to an auto driver named Tamilselvan. And the duo had issues over repayment.
On Thursday, Jan 27, Tamilselvan, along with his friend Rajarajan, hacked Saravana Sundaram to death and the duo surrendered at Annur police station. Saravanan's family lodged a complaint stating Rajendran planned the murder.
The police based on Saravanan’s family’s complaint registered a case against Rajendran and Ranganathan and arrested the two absconding persons in Annur on Friday night.
Both were booked in two sections for murder and conspiracy, were produced before the court and jailed.
