The students at the Ramanathapuram Government Higher Secondary School protested against the construction of the Suez 24 hour water supply tank inside the school campus, climbing on the trees in protest
Coimbatore: Students at the Ramanathapuram Government High School climbed trees and protested against the construction of a Suez tank at the school grounds.

Construction of pipelines under the Suez Water Supply Scheme, which provides round-the-clock drinking water in Coimbatore corporation areas, is in progress. A pit has been dug and the construction of the tank is in progress at the playground at Government Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore.
This has been opposed by various organizations and parties.In protest, the school children and the public gathered once again and protested against the corporation administration, demanding that the ongoing Suez tank work in the school campus is stopped.

The police arrived at the spot and held talks with the students.
Some of the agitators climbed upon the trees triggering a stir. AIADMK MLA Amman K Arjunan visited the school and listened to the students’ demands.They subsequently requested him to speak to the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation.
The demonstration was called off after the police held talks with the students.
