The Tamil Nadu Tableau which was rejected for the Republic Day Parade in Delhi was exhibited at the VOC Grounds and inaugurated by the CCMC Commissioner.
Coimbatore: The decorative tableau which was rejected for the Republic Day parade in Delhi was showcased at the Republic Day celebrations in Chennai and has now arrived in Coimbatore to a rousing reception by the district administration.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin had announced that all the three decorative tableau will be showcased all across Tamil Nadu.
Representations of freedom fighters including Mahakavi Bharathiar, VO Chidambaranar, Subramania Siva and Salem Vijayara Vachari were displayed on the vehicle.
The vehicles also feature shots of the indigenous ship and the Chidambaran prison, as well as Bharathiyar and Chidambaran's sentimental lines.
The tableau is currently parked at the VOC Grounds for public viewing until Sunday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara.
All members of the public visiting the VOC grounds have been advised to wear a face mask.
Art shows have been scheduled for the evenings.
On the first day of display on Friday, Bharathanatyam performances and Nimir group's rhyme show were held.
