The police have arrested a 20-year-old boy who allegedly impregnated a 16-year-old girl under false promise of marriage.
Pollachi: A 20-year-old boy has been arrested under the POCSO Act for impregnating a 16-year-old under false promise of marriage.
Dinesh Kumar (20), a native of Madhampatti, Coimbatore, works in a fruit shop. Reportedly, Dinesh who visited his cousin's house is Pollachi Anaimalai frequently, developed a friendship with a 16-year-old, during a visit to the temple festival a few months ago.
The girl who developed sudden abdominal pain was found pregnant upon examination at the Pollachi government hospital. Doctors informed the Anaimalai police and the cops, based on the parents' complaint, launched an investigation.
The police registered a case under the POSCO Act and arrested Dinesh Kumar.
