The Coimbatore District Collector Sameeran has been diagnosed with Covid19 infection and has isolated himself at the camp office. The Collectorate was subsequently disinfected and cleaned, by the health officers' monitoring.
There are several offices functioning in the 3-story district collectorate. There are various government departments including the Minority Department, Revenue Department, Department of Research and Social Welfare, and over 25 officers and workers work in each office.
Following the confirmation that the District Collector has tested positive for covid, the officers and the staff working at the district collectorate campus have been examined and tested on Friday. The results will be available on Saturday. The health department has requested the officials with cough, cold, fever to isolate themselves.
