The Tamil Nadu government’s nutrition pregnancy kit provided to the carrying mothers at the 15 Velampalayam PHC reportedly contained either expired items or ones that will expire soon and the beneficiaries have called for immediate action.
Tirupur: The pregnancy kit of the Tamil Nadu government provided at the Tirupur 15 Velampalayam Primary Health Center had expired products.

In a shocking incident, the special nutrition kit provided a day back for pregnant mothers at the Primary Health Center in 15 Velampalayam had a box of dates which expired a month ago, and the Aavin ghee due to expire in a day.

A special kit is provided on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu to eliminate nutritional deficiencies in pregnant women.

The kit contains nutritional powder, iron tonic, 500 ml Aavin ghee, dates, deworming tablet, towel, and plastic basket.
This has come as a shocking contradiction as the very purpose of the nutrition kit is to provide and support the good health of pregnant women.
The beneficiaries have raised voices against the negligence and have also demanded that the state Government takes immediate action.
