The Republic Day Tableau of Tamil Nadu reached Coimbatore on Friday and will be placed at the VOC ground for 3 days for public viewing.
Coimbatore: The Republic Day Tableau of Tamil Nadu that was rejected for the Republic Day Parade in Delhi reached Coimbatore on Friday, after it was used at the State's headquarters for the Republic Day celebrations. The Tableau will be placed at the VOC Ground for three days, for publicexhibition.
The Tableau which was denied permission for the Republic Day parade in Delhi, was showcased in Chennai on Republic Day. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu announced that these vehicles would ply all across Tamil Nadu.
The Tableau showcases the legacies of freedom fighters including Subramania Bharathiar and V O Chidambaranar.
The vehicle was given a rousing reception at the city border, Thekkalur by the district administration who welcomed the vehicle with garlands, flowers and reverberating music.
Officials at the reception included the Revenue Divisional Officer Ilango, District Communications Officer Senthil, Sulur Tahsildar Shakuntalamani and Regional Deputy Tahsildar Pandian.
The Tableau featured scenes of Bharathiar, Vijayaraghavachari, Subramania Siva, Chidambaranar, Swadeshi Ship, V O Chidambaranar and Bharathiar's Saadhigal Illayadi Paapa.
The public thronged the Tableau which was displayed for public exhibition for three days at the VOC Grounds in Coimbatore. It will leave Coimbatore on Monday morning to reach Tirupur via Trichy Road.
