Ariyalur student committed suicide a few days ago. According to reports, the teenage girl took the extreme step as she was under pressure to convert her religion by her school authorities. Various Hindu organizations across Tamil Nadu have been staging demonstrations and protests are organised against this.

As part of this, the Hindu Youth Front of the Hindu Front staged a black flag protest in the Gandhi Park area of Coimbatore. More than 100 people participated in the protest, carrying banners, black flags and chanting slogans condemning the incident.
According to a video, which went viral this morning, it is understood that the student committed suicide because her cousin had insulted her and forced her to write lessons immediately at school. It is noteworthy that the student did not mention any record of the conversion. However, this has been denied by various Hindu organizations.
