Ramanathapuram police officials arrested two people, a truck driver and a 16-year-old boy in connection with the vandalism of the St. Sebastian statue at the Trinity Church premises.
Coimbatore: A truck driver and a Class 10 student have been arrested in connection with the vandalism of the St. Sebastian statue at the Trinity Church premises in Coimbatore.
The statue was inside the premises of the Trinity Cathedral Church and School located in Ramanathapuram on Sunday night by unidentified men. Stones were thrown at the glass doors and the statue was damaged. The Ramanathapuram Police launched an investigation based on the complaint of the priest of the church and with the help of the CCTV footage recovered, a search was launched for the miscreants.
A 23-year-old truck driver, Madan Kumar of Vellalore and a 16-year-old student of Class 10 have been arrested by the Ramanathapuram Police. A search is on for the other two involved in the vandalism.
