Coimbatore: The ESI Hospital’s parking area has been converted into Covid treatment ward, stated the hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ravikumar.
The Coimbatore ESI Medical College Auditorium vehicle parking site has been converted into corona ward. With the number of coronavirus cases rising in the third wave, this move is taken as a precautionary measure.
The Hospital Medical Superintendent Ravi Kumar said that the 20,000 sq ft vehicle parking space in the lower part of the auditorium has been converted into a 250-bed corona center.
The scarcity of beds, and beds with oxygen facilities during the first and second wave, caused huge distress in treating Covid patients, and there were mass deaths. In order to address these problems, oxygen bed facilities have been increased at the ESI Hospital in Coimbatore.
