The city police are carrying out serious investigations to nab the persons who damaged the Sebastian Statue in Trinity Church in Coimbatore and two persons are being interrogated in connection with the case.
Coimbatore: The city police are carrying out serious interrogations with two persons in connection with the Sebastian statue damage in Trinity Church.
The Sebastian Statue placed in the premises of the Trinity Cathedral Church and School in Ramanathapuram, was vandalised as miscreants peddled with stones on the glass protection. Two men on motorbikes smashed and damaged the statue and escaped.
A special team has been formed by the Ramanathapuram police to nab them, while the Christian organisations staged a demonstration at the church premises to press for the arrest of the mysterious persons.
The investigation officers have nabbed two members of an organisation and are investigating the case.
The police officials state that an investigation is underway based on the evidence captured through the surveillance cameras installed in the area and are confident of nabbing those responsible soon.
Former AIADMK minister SP Velumani visited the church in person and inquired of the incident.
He assured that miscreants will be captured soon.
