West Zone IG Sudhakar, Central Zone IG Balakrishnan and Kerala IG Chakilam Nagaraju have been nominated to receive the medals for meritorious service which has been awarded by the President of India.
Coimbatore: Every year on Republic Day, medals for outstanding service are awarded to State Police, Central Armed Forces and Railway Police. The awards for the meritorious service in IPS were announced today.
On the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day that will be celebrated tomorrow, the Western Region IG who has rendered outstanding service in the police department will be presented with the medal.
On June 20 last year, Amalraj was promoted to Additional DGP and transferred to Chennai after serving as IG, Coimbatore West Zone Police. It is noteworthy that R. Sudhakar, who had been working as the DIG of Madurai Commodity in his place, was promoted and appointed as the IG of Coimbatore West Zone.
