Disproportionate Assets Case: DVAC sleuths raid the house of Jayaraman, former leader of Veerapandi municipality

MLAs gathered outside Jayaraman's house. Volunteers including key party executives, PRG Arunkumar and AK Selvaraj were in front of his house.


Coimbatore: DVAC sleuths raided the residence of Jayaraman, the former chairman of No. 4 Veerapandi municipality, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets.

KVN Jayaraman of the AIADMK was the leader of the No. 4 Veerapandi municipality next to Periyanayakanpalayam in Coimbatore district from 2001 to 2016.

He is currently serving in the party as the Secretary of the PeriyanayakanPalayam Union (East). His wife’s name is Keerthi. During his tenure, there were complaints that he amassed assets worth Rs 1.45 crore more than his income. It is alleged that the property and jewelery were purchased in his name and in the name of his wife.

In this case, the former mayor, KVN, was alleged to have added more property above his revenue. Coimbatore Anti-Corruption Police have registered a case against Jayaraman and his wife Keerthi under the Anti-Corruption Act.



After the Anti-Corruption Department filed the case, KVN Jayaraman of Damodaran Nagar, No. 4 Veerapandi area, where his house is located, has been under intense scrutiny by DVAC officers since this afternoon.

Many volunteers, including MLAs PRG Arunkumar and AK Selvaraj, and other key party executives, had gathered outside Jayaraman's house where the anti - corruption raid is taking place.

The Income Tax Department had also raided the homes of key ministers of previous AIADMK regime, including former minister SP Velumani few months back.

As part of this, Coimbatore DVAC unit has registered a case against KVN Jayaraman and his wife, who are considered a key figure in the AIADMK's Coimbatore North district.
