Coimbatore: Police are investigating the incident of the body of a woman that was found rotting in a locked house.
Saraswathi (52) was the wife of Periyasamy from Seeranaickenpalayam, next to RS Puram, was living away from her husband due to a disagreement. She went to work and lived alone in a house. His son Chandrasekhar works in a restaurant and lives with his family.
Chandrasekhar often visited his mother. Saraswathi has also been receiving treatment for her frequent ailments. In this situation, a person living near Saraswathi’s house contacted Chandrasekhar last morning and said that the door of his mother's house was not open and that there was a stench coming from inside the house.
Following this, Chandrasekhar rushed to his mother's house. When he broke down the door of the house and went inside, he was shocked to find Saraswathi lying dead in a decomposing state. Following this, Chandrasekhar informed the RS Puram Police.
Police rushed to the spot, seized the decomposed body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered in this regard and an investigation is underway. Police are investigating if Saraswathi died due to ill health or some other cause.
