Coimbatore: A complete curfew has been imposed in Valparai to control the spread of coronavirus infection.
The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday declared a full curfew to curb the rising corona infection in the state. Following this, a full curfew was observed in Valparai, Coimbatore today.
All the shops in Valparai are closed and the roads are deserted. Dairy, pharmacy and petrol stations are open to public. Valparai and Moody's, Kadampara police have set up checkpoints in various areas to monitor the situation.
Valparai police are conducting a vehicle search at important locations including at the Gandhi statue area. Valparai Cholayaru Dam, Mudish Bazaar, Karumalai Bazaar and other estate areas. The public wandering on the roads without any reason are being questioned and sent back home.
With the aim of containing spread of infection, the municipality is spraying disinfectant in areas like Valparai New Bus Stand and Old Bus Stand Gandhi Statue.
