Coimbatore: Third wave of the 'Covid-19' pandemic has affected the flight services in the domestic sector. But 'Air Arabia' continues to operate flights between Coimbatore - Sharjah on all days of the week from the Coimbatore International Airport (CIA).
Aviation sources said, "The flight between Coimbatore- Sharjah can accommodate more than 160 passengers. Previously the service was provided only for few days every week. But, since there is a good response from travellers, Air Arabia provided services on all days in December.
Presently the 'Covid- 19' cases continue to spike rapidly in Coimbatore. 20,701 patients are under treatment. Due to fear among passengers, the domestic sector flight services are affected. But, in the international sector 'Air Arabia' flight to Sharjah is operated full to capacity, in the to and fro route. Each time 2 to 3 tonnes of cargo is booked.
All passengers who arrive are monitored by Heath Department Officials, aviation sources informed.
