Coimbatore: The health department has shared that ninety one percent of the people who have tested positive for Covid-19 are isolated in their homes in Coimbatore. The remaining 9 per cent of the patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals and at corona treatment centres.
The number of Covid-19 cases is on the rise in Coimbatore and the health department has intensified preventive measures. As many as 12,000 beds, including 4,000 oxygen beds, are ready at the government and private hospitals and at the corona treatment centres to treat corona patients.
Deputy Director of Health P. Aruna stated that based on the recommendations of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), corona patients are allowed to undergo home isolation, treatments at hospitals or at corona clinics. Those with mild infection are admitted to corona clinics and patients with severe infections are admitted to either public or private hospitals.
Out of 15, 926, patients 14,547 are being treated in domestic isolation and 1,379 in hospitals and corona treatment centres.
Medical assistance is provided to those who are isolated in their homes and they are monitored through the Covid Control rooms every day.
