The city-based activist, Rafi who met every end struggling to bring communal harmony will be honoured with the government’s Kottai Ameer Communal Harmony Award for the year 2021 on Republic Day.
Coimbatore: Mohammad Rafi, (47) of Coimbatore will be felicitated with the Kottai Ameer Communal Harmony Award for the year 2021.
Mohammad Rafi the most hailed social activist is from Telugupalayam of Coimbatore, who has involved himself in social work such as feeding guest workers, donating ambulances, is a business man by profession.
Recognizing his efforts in bringing about Communal Harmony, he will be awarded the Kottai Ameer Communal Harmony Award, 2021.
The Kottai Ameer Communal Harmony Award was established by the government in the name of Kottai Ameer, who worked for communal harmony. The medal is awarded annually at the Republic Day celebrations to a person who strives to achieve communal harmony and serves Tamil Nadu.
At this year's Republic Day celebrations, Mohammed Rafi of Coimbatore, who worked for communal harmony will be awarded. The order has been issued by Public Sector Secretary Jagannathan.
The medal that will be awarded to Mohammed Rafi is made of silver and is gold plated. As part of the award, a draft demand for Rs 25,000 and certificate will be issued by the Chief Minister.
