The Tirupur police have arrested eight people including AIADMK District Deputy secretary who attempted to kidnap a businessman by brandishing a knife due to existing enmity.
Tirupur: The Tirupur police have arrested eight people including AIADMK District Deputy secretary who attempted to kidnap a businessman by brandishing a knife due to existing enmity.
Babu, a native of Velan nagar in Tirupur Thennampalayam, who runs a seat cover business was allegedly threatened and attempted to be kidnapped by the gang hired by AIADMK Secretary. The AIADMK District Deputy Secretary, Selvi of Tirupur Velliyangadu had issues with Babu in purchasing a land, after which she hired some men to kidnap Babu.
The gang of seven men allegedly went to Babu's house on the 19th and tried to kidnap him by threatening him with a knife. The seven persons who attempted to get involved in the kidnapping escaped in a car after hearing Babu's cry for help.
The Tirupur South police registered a case and are investigating the matter. On the orders of City Police Commissioner Babu, police led by South Police Inspector Pichaiah arrested eight people including the AIADMK woman.
The accused are identified as Chandrabose, Gopinath, Ajay, Vignesh, Arun Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Selvi.
It may be noted that three persons involved in the case, namely Chandra Bose, Ravi Kumar and Gopinath have a number of cases register against them, including a murder case.
