The Electricity, Prohibition and Excise Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the road renovation works and declared the additional beds for treating Covid-19 patients at the ESI Hospital.
Coimbatore: The Electricity Tamil Nadu inaugurated the road and pond renovation works under the Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Development Program in Vilankurichi and other areas on Saturday.
Minister Senthil Balaji inaugurated 6.06-km of road renewal works and pond renewal works at Vilankurichi, Maheshwari Nagar, Vinayakapuram and Chinna Mettupalayam areas of Coimbatore at an estimated cost of Rs-8,28,35,000 under Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Development Project (TNSUDP) and Namakku Naame Thittam on Saturday.
Following this, the Minister inaugurated beds for covid-19 treatment with oxygen facilities at ESI Hospital.
Additional beds are being arranged in Coimbatore in the wake of rising cases. New beds have been set up in ESI Hospitals which the Minister inaugurated and dedicated for public use.
The Minister also inaugurated the Oxygen Concentrator Machine that yields 1000L of Oxygen per minute at the ESI Hospital offered on behalf of Rotary Club.
Addressing newspersons, the Minister said “As many as 200 additional bed facilities have been provided in the last 72-hours at ESI Hospital. About 28 beds are equipped with oxygen providers. In the district, hospitals are being prepared to deal with a situation of emergency, if it arises, as a precautionary measure.”
He then said that the opposition continues to insist that the DMK fulfils its election promises. The Minister conveyed that action is being taken against the wrongdoers of the last regime. The Minister further questioned as to how the property value of the former Ministers has gone up compared to the value exhibited during election, which was produced during the nominations.
Speaking of the curfew restrictions, he said that the District Collector will hold a discussion and inform about the restrictions.
