Coimbatore: The Forest Department officials have reported that the leopard lurking in the godown in Kuniyamuthur had approached the cage set up to trap it, thrice, and looked healthy. It seemed to be roaming only in the early hours of the morning and resting during the day.
The 3-year-old male leopard was found lurking in a godown in Kuniyamuthur area since January 17. Following this, the Forest Department had set up cages at both gates to the godown to trap the leopard and have been monitoring the leopard with six cameras.
Forest officials who have been monitoring the situation for the fifth day in a row released CCTV footage of the leopard moving on Friday morning. In the footage, the leopard can be seen approaching the cage but not entering it and looking to be very healthy.
