Karamadai police have registered a case against the jewellery store owner and have arrested him under various sections.
Coimbatore: The owner of a jewellery store has been booked by the Karamadai police and he is arrested under sections, including for barring government officials from performing their duty.

Mariappan (58), a Karamadai Municipal Health Inspector, observed last evening that Mohammad (28), of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Mettupalayam, who owns and runs a jewellery store in the area, is not following the covid-19 norms. The jewellery store owner reportedly used inappropriate words against the Municipal Health Inspector. This resulted in a war of words between the Health Inspector and the owner of the jewellery store.
A complaint was lodged by the Health Inspector against Mohammad, with the Karamadai police. Following this, the Karamadai police filed a case and arrested Mohammad under various sections, including preventing government officials from performing their duty.
