Coimbatore: A medical aspirant who was to leave the country to pursue his medical science studies in the US, ended his life by suicide. He was reportedly under therapy to deal with loneliness.
Caleb Jose is the son of Darius (53) who hails from Somayampalayam near Vadavalli in Coimbatore. His sudden death has shocked both kin and neighbours since he was looking to accompany his father to Georgia in the US to pursue medical science from March this year. Jose’s mother is a professor at a private engineering college in Pachapalayam and his elder brother lives in Georgia along with his dad Darius who is a doctor in the US. He had arrived in Coimbatore a month ago from the US.
Jose reportedly had no desire to go abroad and wanted to stay in Coimbatore as he was also undergoing therapy for dealing with loneliness. He hung himself to death on Thursday evening when his parents were visiting a friend in Sungam on Trichy Road.
The Vadavalli Police arrived at the spot on being informed about the suicide. They recovered Jose's corpse and sent it to the Government hospital for autopsy. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
