The Government School teacher from Bommanampalayam Panchayat Union Middle School who created over 250 animated videos to impart education innovatively to children has been recognized for her effort.
Coimbatore: A Government School teacher, Yuvarani has been recognized for her innovative effort to educate children and will receive the Centre’s Sarabhai Teacher Scientist National Award.
Yuvarani, a teacher at the Bommanampalayam Panchayat Union Middle School has been conferred the award by the National Council of Teacher Scientists, an organization affiliated with the Vigyan Prasar under the Department of Science and Technology. Teachers who teach mathematics and science are recognized with awards annually for their creative efforts in imparting education.
For the current year, the Sarabhai Teacher-Scientist National Award competition was conducted online and proposals were received. Thereafter, the list of eligible candidates for the award was published through interviews. Yuvarani, the teacher from Bommanampalayam Panchayat Union Middle School in Coimbatore won the second prize.
"I have created more than 250 'animated' videos to bring the new curriculum easily to the students. I am also taking classes on educational television. When explained to students in the process, the ideas are indestructible in the mind. It is a great pleasure to be selected for the award," stated an elated Yuvarani.
Yuvarani will be felicitated with the award along with the other selected teachers in New Delhi.
