Coimbatore: Police constables arrested a man for selling banned 'gutka' in a godown in Maniyakarampalayam area of Coimbatore. 11 bundles of gutka weighing 170 kg were seized from the godown.
Police arrested Periyakaruppan, a resident of Variety Hall Road who was carrying 170 kg of 'gutka' on a two-wheeler at the Coimbatore GP junction. During the investigation, it was revealed that he had been illegally selling gutka in Anjugam Nagar area next to the Maniyakarampalayam area.
Based on the information given by Periyakaruppan, the police conducted a search at a nearby godown and seized 11 bundles of gutka weighing about 170 kg from the godown.
