Urban local body elections will be held soon in Tamil Nadu. The State Election Commission directed to impart online election training for the officers, who will be appointed as returning officers in the district. On the other hand, work, including identifying sensitive polling stations in the district, is in progress.
A district election division official stated, “Discussions are underway in conducting online training for the officers working in the elections. These officers will receive training in receiving nomination papers, code of conduct, nomination process and procedures to be followed during nomination. Training will be imparted to polling officers on corona prevention measures.”
“Further, a study is being conducted to identify the hotspots among the polling stations. Preliminary steps are in progress for the elections.”
