Coimbatore: The health department of the district stated that the number of containment zones in the city is at 137, and the surging number cases pose a threat to the public.
According to the health department, 137 places have been isolated due to coronavirus infection in Coimbatore. Coronavirus spread has increased in Coimbatore. The daily toll has crossed 2,000 and the areas which have recorded more than 5 cases within close proximity are being isolated. Accordingly, 137 places have been isolated in Coimbatore.
The Deputy Director of Health P Aruna said that there is no such practice of blocking roads that lead to containment zones. “Houses and nearby houses that have patients who are infected with coronavirus are isolated. Currently, only specific places are isolated.”
