Coimbatore: The BJP functionary, H Raja has alleged the DMK government of scamming ₹ 1000-crore in the name of Pongal Package distribution, while addressing media persons here on Thursday.
“Items in the DMK’s Pongal package were of substandard quality and the government has scammed ₹ 1000-crore in the name of distribution”, alleged H Raja, one of the former national secretaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party, meeting media persons here after attending the Temple consecration ceremony in Selvapuram Coimbatore on Thursday.
He questioned the Chief Minister for not offering money along with Pongal Package, highlighting the demand raised by MK Stalin to provide ₹ 5,000 to ration card holders during the previous government’s regime. Raja stated that the government has made life difficult for the poor.
To the question about rejection of vehicles from Tamil Nadu for Republic Day Parade, Raja alleged that the state government is simply staging a drama. He questioned why has there been no permission. DMK government in alliance received permissions only twice and not during the rest of the times, he informed.
Raja highlighted that the BJP-led UP Government has also been rejected and stated that the government had nothing to do with the issue.
The BJP functionary expressed that the Tamil Nadu people will teach the ruling party a lesson in the forthcoming local body elections.
