The press release circulated by the Health Department, conveys that Coimbatore is ranked as second in terms of coronavirus caseload. Throwing light on numbers, the press release conveys that the city has a total of 3,082 active cases and another 13,728 persons are undergoing treatment for coronavirus in Coimbatore.
Chennai tops the caseload list with 8,007 active cases. As many as 2,193 persons are affected in Chengalpattu. In Tamil Nadu 26,981 people are impacted with coronavirus.
The infection rate continues to surge in districts like Coimbatore and Kanyakumari.A total of 1,70,661 people in Tamil Nadu are undergoing treatments for covid-19 in Tamil Nadu. Accordingly, 62,512 in Chennai and 17,285 in Chengalpattu.
In terms of mortality, till date, 37,0073 people have died due to infection, including 35 on Wednesday
