A Coimbatore-based engineer has cycled 1,902 km from Gujarat to Coimbatore in view of spreading awareness on Fit India Movement and urging the public to create a ‘Green India’.
Coimbatore: A Coimbatore-based engineer has cycled from Gujarat to Coimbatore in view of spreading awareness on Fit India Movement and has urged the public to work towards creating a ‘Green India’.
Siva Surya, (27), from Thondamuthur, Kalikanayakanpalayam works as an engineer in a private company in Gujarat. Deciding to spread awareness on the Fit India Movement among the public and increase the usage of bicycles to create a Green India, he took a 1,902-km solo bicycle journey from Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat to Ramakrishna Mission in Coimbatore.
Surya started from Gujarat on the 1st of January, cycled through various states, and reached Coimbatore after an adventurous 10-day journey.
Surya who lost his father four years ago due to illness stated that “I took the bicycle ride, emphasizing that the public should take care of their health and be vigilant. Through my journey I have showcased the 'Fit India' initiative. My aim is that people should give priority and use bicycles to build a green India.”
