Valparai: The devotees who were banned to temples for Thaipusam due to Covid restrictions imposed by Tamil Nadu Government, visited Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Valparai with Paravai Kavadi.
The Tamil Nadu Government had imposed a ban on devotees visiting temples for the Thaipusam festival due to rising Covid cases recorded during the Pongal holidays.
The restrictions ended on Tuesday, after which the devotees adorning themselves in traditional Thaipusam costumes visited Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Valparai with Paravai Kavadi.
The devotees from new bus stand with Kumbh, along with Paravai Kavadi, piercing their skin with Vel, Alagu marched through the city and reached the Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple chanting ‘Arogara’.
