Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Minister for Electricity and Prohibition and Excise, Senthil Balaji will interview the candidates who have petitioned for the local polls on the 20th and 22nd of January, ahead of the poll dates to be announced soon.
The Election Commission has released the electoral roll and the e-voting machines. Meanwhile, election work has also been intensified by the political parties.
The candidates of DMK who have petitioned and those who will contest in the forthcoming elections, will be interviewed at the Suguna auditorium on 20th and 22nd.
The interview for the wards Singanallur, Coimbatore South, Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore North, Kinathukadavu and Thondamuthur constituency will be held from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on 20th. Candidates contesting from Sarkar Samakulam, Idikarai, Periyanaickenpalayam, Narasimhanaickenpalayam Town Panchayat will be interviewed on the same day.
The interview for the rest of the wards will be conducted on 22nd. The municipal unions, Perur, taluk secretaries, in-charge who will be attending the interview are requested by the District In-charge to complete the booth book and hand it over to them.
