Coimbatore: Treasury employees at the Coimbatore District Collectorate found a snakeskin shed near the security room and immediately informed the Rescue Department. However, the snake seemed elusive and was nowhere to be found. The shed snakeskin created panic among workers and the public who visit the Collectorate everyday for various purposes.
The Treasury staff informed the higher officials who in turn informed the Rescue Department of the incident. The Rescue personnel arrived at the spot to capture the snake but it was not spotted on the premises. The Rescue Services said that the skin found was that of the Spectacled Cobra. They directed the staff at the Collectorate to clean the security room since it looked dust-ridden for a long time and could become home to pests.
