Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity, Prohibition and Excise Minister distributed 8 gm gold coins to 400 beneficiaries under the State Government’s 'Thalikku Thangam Scheme.'
A function was held at a private hall in Narasimhanaickenpalayam in which Minister Senthil Balaji distributed 8 gms of gold coin to beneficiaries (women) who have completed Class 10. The initiative was taken by the District Social Welfare Department and Women's Rights Department.
Minister Senthil Balaji presented the 8 gm gold coin to 400 beneficiaries under the scheme 'Thalikku Thangam' introduced by the State Government to support the ‘poor brides of the state.’
He also inaugurated various works including construction of tar road, construction of modern gas crematorium in burial grounds and road extension at Narasimhanaicknpalayam, Periyanaickenpalayam and Veerapandi at an estimated cost of Rs. 24 crores under Kalaignar Urban Development Scheme.
Village Administrative Officers, District Collector G S Sameeran and Government Department officials were present on the occasion.
