Coimbatore: The urban local body elections are to be held soon in Coimbatore and 50 Wards in the Coimbatore Corporation have been allotted for women to contest. The post of Mayor of Coimbatore Corporation has been allotted to the women candidates.
There are 100 Wards in five zones under Coimbatore Corporation. Out of this, 5 Wards have been allotted to SC General Category, 5 Wards to SC Women Category, 45 Wards to General Category Women, and 45 Wards to General Category.Accordingly, 50 percent has been allotted to the female candidates.
