City Commissioner of Police Pradip Kumar has ordered to prosecute Arun Karthik and Mohanraj under the Goondas Act, in view of the public order problem caused by their crimes.
Coimbatore: On the 8th near Vellalore, Coimbatore, two miscreants wore a footwear garland and smeared saffron powder on the statue of Periyar.
The Coimbatore Metropolitan Police registered a case and conducted an investigation. Examination of the CCTV footage revealed that it was Arun Karthik and Mohan Raj from Vellalore who desecrated the Periyar statue. The two were subsequently arrested by the police on the 11th and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Jail.
