Coimbatore City Police are on the hunt for a mysterious killer who had murdered a worker sleeping in front of the MGR Market on Monday night.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police are on the hunt for a mysterious killer who had murdered a worker sleeping in front of the MGR Market near Saibaba Colony in Coimbatore, on Monday night. The male corpse with head severely injured was found near the New Bus Stand on Mettupalayam Road, causing a huge stir in the city.
A large number of people work at the MGR Market near Saibaba Colony, in Coimbatore. These workers sleep in front of their shops after work. Shanmugam (45) who worked as a driver in the market was reportedly killed when a man threw a huge stone while he was asleep in front of a shop on Monday night, after work as usual.

Passers-by noticed the corpse on Tuesday morning and informed the Saibaba Colony police who rushed to the spot and are now investigating the murder. Police speculate that the murder could have happened due to hostility between the people concerned or by a gang of robbers.
