Coimbatore: Tuesday, is the second day when the team of experts from the forest department is attempting to trap and cage the lone leopard, which is reportedly taking shelter in a private godown, housed in a dilapidated building in Kuniyamuthur.
The forest officials are in the process of caging the leopard that has a reputation of attacking and causing a nuisance in Kuniyamuthur, PK Nagar in Coimbatore. The forest department is on the bid to trap the elusive leopard that is hiding in the dilapidated godown in Kuniyamuthur, since Monday night. A lone leopard was spotted for the past few months, in Coimbatore Madukkarai, Kuniyamuthur, Sugunapuram, PK Nagar.
The public urged the forest department to expediently trap the predator after it attack over ten dogs in the quarters. The forest department was unable to locate the animal and on Monday, the department received information that the leopard was spotted in a dilapidated godown in Kuniyamuthur.
The forest officials have set up traps at all the points of entry and exit of the godown as the animal continued to elude all night, despite bursting crackers. The forest department has assured that the leopard will be trapped and there are cages kept ready at the godown gates.
