Around 8 employee quarters in old Valparai private estate were engulfed in a sudden fire on the 8th of January, The fire spread at rapid pace and gutted items inside the house like that of furniture, televisions, cots, food items, etc., The inmates who were asleep when the fire started were awakened by the heavy smoke, managed to alert the neighbours and escaped without injuries.
Presided over by Valparai AIADMK District Secretary Mayil Ganesan, Valparai MLA Amul Kandasamy distributed clothes, cots, bureaus beds to the affected families. Mahalakshmi, a college student received a mobile phone.
