The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Council volunteers have demanded that the health department takes steps to vaccinate the destitute people living on roadside in Pollachi area with coronacirus vaccine.
Pollachi: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Council volunteers have demanded vaccination of destitute people living on roadside in Pollachi.
More than 100 destitute people have taken shelter in various areas and roadsides including Pollachi Central Bus Stand, Coimbatore Road, Market areas. A full curfew has now been imposed on Sunday and night curfew is also imposed. Volunteers including Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Youth Council are distributing food packets to the homeless, making sure that they eat three meals a day.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Tamilmani personally visited the destitute this afternoon and distributed food packets. The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Youth Council volunteers tested the people for fever.
Unfortunately, the destitute do not have any documents like Aadhaar cards, ration cards, etc, and have made the roadside their home. They are at risk of acquiring and spreading the infection easily.
The council requested that the health department takes steps to immunize them with the coronavirus vaccine, without demanding any documents and protect this section of people from infection attacks and spread.
