District Collector GS Sameeran has announced additional restrictions, to control the growing coronavirus infection in Coimbatore.
The Collector issuing a statement, said, "All places of worship, parks, and tourist attractions are closed for the public during Pongal holidays.”
He added that it is the public’s duty to strictly follow the guidelines and the preventive measures imposed by the Government and the District Administration. The public is asked to cooperate with the District Administration to control the increasing spread of the virus.
Over 1,500 people were infected in a single day on Friday in Coimbatore.
