Coimbatore: The persons who have been admitted at the CODISSIA campus for covid-19 treatment celebrated the Thai Thirunaal Pongal at the premises on Friday.
More than 200 people are being treated for coronavirus at the CODISSIA campus in Coimbatore. On the occasion of Pongal, the covid-19 patients who are undergoing treatment there celebrated Pongal inside the complex.
A traditional Pongal festival was observed along with Kummi Paatu, and Pongal was cooked in the utensils used to cook food for the patients there.
The necessary items for Pongal celebrations such as sugarcane, color rangoli powders were brought in through the family who visited the patients there.
The patients expressed the joy of experiencing a new type of Pongal celebration with new people, although they missed their home and families.
