Coimbatore: The District Health Department has stated that the number of containment zones in the city are at 96 and the persons who have been isolated at their homes are monitored every single day.
According to the health department, 96 places have been isolated due to coronavirus infection in Coimbatore. The Health department officials said, “The infection in the city is widespread and not largely confined to one particular zone, and hence isolating the entire street is not necessary. Only the houses of the infected persons and surrounding houses are being isolated.”
The official mentioned that, in case of detection of persons with S gene deficiency, more than 3 infections in the same house with coronavirus, they are isolated. Accordingly, 96 zones are now isolated in the district.
The health of the occupants of the isolated houses is checked daily by the control room and necessary health advice is given. Necessary facilities are provided to those who need treatment in the nearby Government Hospitals, added the health officer.
