The CB-CID arrested the advocate who absconded after swindling the insurance compensation money of the client in an accident case in Dharapuram.
Coimbatore: The Crime Branch, Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) of Coimbatore arrested the advocate who had absconded after swindling the insurance compensation money of his client in an accident case in Dharapuram.
Shanmugasundaram (25) from Dharapuram in Tirupur, a private company employee was killed in a bus accident in 2011. Shanmugasundaram’s parents, Balasubramaniam and Eashwari filed a case at the Dharapuram court seeking compensation. The court’s verdict on 10th April 2015 ordered a compensation of Rs.3.78 lakhs to the family which was reportedly not informed to the litigants.
Instead, the advocate in Dharapuram, Murugesan and sub-court clerk Bhaskar prepared a forged document and swindled the compensation for themselves.
Bhaskar who had retired from service was arrested but the advocate, Murugesan who had been absconding was finally arrested in Chennai by the CB-CID of Coimbatore.
