Numerous devotees appeared for the darshan of Lord Venkateshwara at the Sri Ranganathar Veeramachi Amman temple in Saravana Nagar, Koundampalayam on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadesi on Thursday. The Swarga Vaasal, celestial gates were opened at 5 am on Thursday morning, as part of the ritual of Vaikunta Ekadesi for devotees.
Bhajans were held throughout Tuesday night, special pujas were performed to Sri Ranganathan this morning with a special decoration of sandalwood.
A large number of devotees participated in the event and chanted the holy names of the deity.
The main God, Sri Ranganathan has been placed in the temple as a replica of Ranganathan in Srirangam, Trichy.
