A construction worker who married a 17-year-old girl in Kinathukadavu, was arrested under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act and POCSO.
Coimbatore: A 17-year-old girl from Kinathukadavu area in Coimbatore district was admitted to Pollachi Government Hospital today, due to abdominal pain.
The doctor who examined the girl there revealed that she is 8 months pregnant. The Kinathukadavu police station was informed. According to reports, a 21-year-old construction worker had married the girl and impregnated her.
Police have arrested a 21-year-old construction worker who married a minor girl and made her pregnant. He is being prosecuted under the POCSO and Child Marriage Prohibition Act. After appearing in court, the youth was put behind bars.
